2016 Open Championship

The Open Championship will once again grace the shores of the Ayrshire Coast in 2016 where the world’s best golfers will battle it out for the famous Claret Jug on the links at Royal Troon Golf Club.

This will be the 145th Open Championship and the ninth occasion The Open will be contested at Royal Troon with the most recent being in 2004 when American Todd Hamilton held his nerve in a playoff against Ernie Els to seal his place in the history books. Remarkably, each of the last 6 Open Championships held at Royal Troon have been won by a golfer from the USA. Not since 1950 has a non-American golfer been victorious at Royal Troon.

Why not book your 2016 golfing vacation for July 2016 and spend a day or two spectating and supporting your favourite golfers at The Open Championship? Bonnie Wee Golf can create a custom itinerary that is perfect for your specific requirements.

The Championship will take place from 14th-17th July 2016.
