Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2023
Last week the The Bonnie Wee Golf team attended the sixth Scottish Golf Tourism Week. The event which took place at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews, aims to support Scottish golf businesses and encourage growth in the industry. Bringing together more than 80 world leading golf tour operators from 30 different countries.
Award Category: Best Golf Tour Operator, UK based
Bonnie Wee Golf were absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for an award in a newly created category for 2023 – Best Golf Tour Operator, UK Based.
David Harris, Managing Director of Bonnie Wee Golf, said, “Being shortlisted for this award is truly amazing. In recent years, the company has experienced growth due to demand, and it’s great to see that our industry also recognises our efforts in bringing visitors to our country.”
Sadly, we didn’t win this year, but we are extremely delighted for Jim Stewart and his team at Connoisseur Golf who won the award. Our congratulations also go out to the other category finalists; Carr Golf and Golfbreaks.
The evening was such a wonderful celebration of all things golf in Scotland. We were delighted to see so many of Bonnie Wee Golf’s suppliers shortlisted and winning awards. Huge congratulations to you all.
What did we take away from the week?
That 2023 is going to be another mega year for golf tourism in Scotland. Demand is at a high.
The new trend: plan earlier! We confirmed with industry representatives that they are also hearing from excited travellers that they wish to start making those travel plans earlier and earlier. Bucket list trips are hot!
There is a lot of love for the Old Tom Morris Trail. We have been blown away by the support and excitement from the industry about the Old Tom Morris Trail which we launched in March last year. There is a real appetite to try some hidden gems around Scotland, especially the Highlands and Moray Coast – many of which feature on the Old Tom Morris Trail.
If you didn’t manage to find us at Scottish Golf Tourism Week but want to catch up – make sure to contact the Bonnie Wee Golf team.
